Rules/Formats: We try to adhere to major tournament standards with as little modifications as possible. Some rules are slightly modified to adhere to convention/game room times.
Universal Rules:
-Personal Fight sticks and controllers are allowed: No turbo mods allowed.
-Headsets will be allowed (no full surround sound headset units that require a power cord to power). Must be connectable to a Standard Headset jack.
-All fighters do take place on PS3 and Shooters on 360.
-Brackets are all single elimination (This is mostly due to the number of events going on simultaneously at a convention), Exception is money matches/ prize pot tournaments in which Double Elimination always.
- Double-Blind Select can always be chosen to begin a match.
- The winner of a game must stick with the same character used to win for the following game, except in the case of Smash Bros. Loser can always change characters.
- You encouraged to bring your own controller: While NGA possesses a few fight sticks, with multiple tournaments going we cannot guarantee use of a stick. There will be ample controllers available.
-Everyone is encouraged to check buttons in first 5 seconds of the match afterwards you can not claim “faulty equipment” in the result of a loss.
- Players have 1 minute to report to and begin their matches and will be disqualified if unable to do so (Unless in another tournament, in which the T.O. should be notified prior to).
- It is the player’s responsibility to notify a staffer over a dispute on rules.
- Button mapping and converters ARE allowed while turbo is NOT.
- Winners are required to notify staffers of the results of their match. This will speed up the process greatly and help us run a smooth tournament.
- Wireless sticks/pads/remotes will be allowed. However, we require that you pull out your battery when you are not playing to avoid disrupting tournament matches.
- In addition, pausing or restarting the game/match for any reason, except with the consent of the opponent will result in a forfeit of that particular game/round (whichever is smaller). This includes battery/controller problems.
SSBMelee:
- 4 stock, 5 minute time limit all rounds except for an 8 minute time limit semi’s and finals
- 2/3 games Winner’s/Loser’s/Grand Finals
- Items off
- Games decided first by lives, then %. Sudden death is used to break ties.
- Stage select: Each player will able to choose a stage a piece. If tie after 2 round a random stage will be chosen.
- Controller Mods, Glitches (IC Freeze Glitch, Mewtwo Soul Stunner, etc), Wobbling, and tactics used to stall a match (wall-bombing, rising pound), are banned.
- Pausing the game is considered a loss of Game
SSBBrawl:
SBR Certified
- 3 Stock, 5 minute time limit all rounds except for an 8 minute time limit semi’s and finals
- Items are set to “off” and “none”
- 2/3 games Loser’s/Winner’s/Grand Finals
- Stage select: Each player will able to choose a stage a piece. If tie after 2 round a random stage will be chosen.
- In the event of a dispute, controller ports will be selected by Rock-Paper-Scissors
- Games decided first by stock and then by percentage. If percents are the same or both players die simultaneously, there will be a 1 stock overtime. Bowser’s suicide klaw is exempt from this rule.
- If a game ends with Bowser doing his suicide klaw and it ends in sudden death, the sudden death will be ignored and that game will count as a win for Bowser.
- Metaknight’s Infinite Cape glitch is banned.
- Stalling is banned. Stalling: The act of deliberately avoiding any and all conflict so that one may make the game unplayable. Running away from an opponent to reach a better position is not stalling, while doing an infinite grab endlessly against a wall is. Any infinite chain grabs must end quickly after 300% has been reached so as to prevent excessive stalling.
- Pausing the game is considered a loss of Game
2v2 Teams:
All rules are the same with the exception of:
-Team attack is turned on
-Controllers ports will be, Team 1- 1,2 and Team 2- 3,4.
-As a general courtesy. Any team that has Sonic or Lucario will get to choose Blue color. This is because when Sonic or Lucario is any other color, it makes very difficult to distinguish which team they are on.
SSF4:
A button check will be instituted before each match begins.
2/3 rounds, 2/3 sets, 99 seconds (Loser’s/Winner’s/Grand Finals are 3/5 games).
Winner must remain same character. Loser has choice to change character.
RANDOM stage select.

Tentative ruling on all game-breaking glitches which make it impossible for at least one player to continue fighting (such as the Zero glitch):
